Situated on seven acres of lush semi-tropical land, Players Club offers a laid-back yet active environment. If tennis is your game, you’re in luck! Players Club features 28 Hard Tru-surface lighted tennis courts, four of which are sheltered from the elements so you can play on the occasional rainy day. This year-round, family-friendly resort is home to one of the finest health clubs on the island. Children can play at the nursery while you enjoy a vigorous game of racquetball, swim some laps in the indoor heated pool, de-stress in a yoga or pilates class, burn some calories with aerobics or work out with a personal trainer. Afterwards, relax in the warmth of the hot tub or a tanning bed.
For some real sun, you can soak up the rays at our inviting outdoor pool, or walk three blocks to Coligny Beach, the best public beach on the island. Frolic in the waves of the warm blue Atlantic Ocean, then treat yourself with a visit to the tiki bar.
The tranquil surroundings of Players Club reflect the low country beauty of coastal Carolina. Giant oaks, weeping willows and palmetto trees generously adorn the landscape, accentuated by a peaceful pond.

We have stayed a Pono Kai Resort twice, for two weeks each time.
The first time we stayed was in 2019 and we had an oceanfront 1 bedroom unit downstairs in building C the first week. It was nice to be able to walk straight out to the beach from the lanai. The second week we had a 1 bedroom with a loft upstairs in Building A, also oceanfront. The view was very nice. The rooms were well appointed and appeared to have been recently updated.
The second time we stayed was in 2022. The first week we had an upstairs oceanfront 2 bedroom unit in Building A. The second week was in an upstairs 2 bedroom unit in Building J which fronts to the highway. Both units were well appointed and had tehe same furnishings that we had in the oceanfront units in 2019.
The landscaping was nicely done, and included fruit trees, koi ponds and an herb garden.
Pono Kai Resort is located in Kapa'a on what is referred to as the Coconut Coast. There are lots of activities to do on site including tennis, volleyball, basketball, shuffleboard, croquet and a putting green.
in 2019 they did a breakfast where they had vendors come in and show off the different excursions that they offered. We booked several including a stand-up paddle board lesson, the Best of Kauai Tour, Luau Kalamaku and a deep sea fishing trip with Hawaiian Style Fishing. We enjoyed all of them thoroughly and still recommend them to friends and family visitng.
In 2022 we booked two separate trips with Kauai Backcountry Adventures to do the Mountain Tubing. This excursion allows you to float down the old sugar cane plantation irrigation canals in inner tubes. We had done it before, but our friends had not. So we went twice in one week. We also booked another trip with Hawaiian Style Fishing.
NOTE: Pono Kai is the only Bluegreen Resort in Hawaii.
